Trees for Sale in the Indianapolis Area

During the spring and summer, numerous big box stores offer trees for sale in the Indianapolis area. There are also numerous nurseries where you can purchase trees year-round, order special trees and shrubs, and get good advice. Here are a few (Only nurseries ranking 4.0 or higher on Google are listed here). Brownsburg

Nature’s Choice Landscape and Supply – In addition to trees and shrubs, they have a lot of landscaping supplies and a great variety of outdoor furniture. According to their website, they have over seventy varieties of stone and mulch.

Carmel

Rosie’s Gardens and Hughes Landscape – Twelve acres of houseplants, herbs, vegetables, perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs. They also have pottery and fountains.

Clayton

Trees for Sale in the Indianapolis Area

Cox’s Plant Farm probably has the best selection of trees for sale in the Indianapolis area. If you are looking for something that’s hard to find, this is who you want to call. They have shade trees, fruit trees, ornamentals and conifers. They also have shrubs and garden plants.

This Norway spruce is doing quite well. It was purchased from Cox’s Plant Farm some years ago. They also did the planting, which was no easy task. They planted the tree in the fall after a very dry summer. The ground was rock hard, but they got it planted despite this.

Cumberland

Frady’s Lawn & Landscape – They sell trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials. They also offer a full range of landscaping services, such as mowing, mulching and tree planting. James Frady started a landscape business in 1973 and opened the retail store in 1987.

Fishers

Allisonville Home & Garden by Sullivan – This nursery is now operated by the Sullivan Hardware family. For an idea of what they have to sell, check out this short video featuring drone footage.

Geist Nursey – In addition to trees and other plants for sale, they offer landscaping services and consultations. In May the host Native Plants Unlimited.

Indianapolis

Andrea’s Garden Center – Sells trees, shrubs, perennials and sod.

Dammann’s Garden Company – They offer classes and workshops as well as trees and shrubs for sale.

Eagle Creek Nursery and Landscape – After over a century in operation, this nursery is still run by the Esterline family. They offer a lot of landscaping services, including estate landscape maintenance.

Lizton

Woody Warehouse Nursery – They specialize in native trees and shrubs, offering over 130 varieties. Most of these are hardwoods, and they have sixteen different oak species (black oak, bur oak, cherrybark oak, chestnut oak, chinquapin oak, nuttall oak, overcup oak, pin oak, post oak, red oak, scarlet oak, shingle oak, shumard oak, swamp chestnut oak, swamp white oak and white oak. They use their Root Force growing system to produce trees with dense root systems.

McCordsville

Horning’s Landscaping and Nursery – Started in 1976 and still run by the Horning family.

Westfield

Sundown Gardens – They sell trees and shrubs, and also offer a variety of landscaping and other services.

Zionsville

Altum’s – Trees, shrubs and lots of smaller plants. This is a family owned business that was started in 1958.
